This report updates the January 2015 WHaSH model Forecasting Report and considers the effectiveness of traffic mitigation measures at key junctions on the road network.

This is a Forecasting Report using the WHaSH model, which looks at the likely effect of particular assumptions for housing growth to 2031 on the operation of the highway network around WGC and Hatfield. The findings of this report are subject to ongoing refinement following comments by the Highways Agency.

The Welwyn Hatfield and Stevenage/Hitchin (WHaSH) model is a detailed transport model including the area around Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield which has been prepared as a basis for testing the potential traffic implications in 2031 of proposed new development taking place within the borough and nearby during the Local Plan period.

This document is a summary of the findings of Hertfordshire Infrastructure and Investment Strategy (HIIS) Study, which provides an assessment of Hertfordshire's future infrastructure requirements and identifies funding mechanisms necessary to secure its provision.
