Green Belt Review Stage 2 | October 2014 June 2016 | Following from the Green Belt Review of November 2013, the Stage 2 Review assesses Green Belt sites identified by the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment and the Gypsy and Traveller Land Availability Assessment with the potential to contribute to a sustainable pattern of development. In 2016 a further ten Green Belt sites were assessed, using the same methodology, following their identification in the Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment as sites with a potential to contribute to a sustainable pattern of development. |
Green Belt Review | November 2013 | The Strategic Green Belt Review was jointly commissioned by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, St Albans District Council and Dacorum Borough Council. It provides a robust assessment of how land in the Green Belt contributes to the national and local purposes of the Green Belt. It also makes a high level assessment of how Green Belt land contributes to retaining openness and the character of the countryside. |
